‘Maxim’ picks top 10 infomercial products

Lifealert If you finish at No. 1 on a Maxim list, chances are you’re 18 and wear few clothes. Atop Maxim’s latest list, however, is octogenarian Dorothy McHugh and the Life Alert system—the magazine’s pick for greatest infomercial product in history. McHugh died in 1995, but the product apparently lives on. The ThighMaster, the Chia Pet, the Clapper and K-Tel Records (makers of the Freedom Rock collection) also make the list.
