
Washington, D.C. NBC owned station WRC has added three journalists to its staff. The new hires are Walter Morris, Mauricio Casillas and Melissa Younger.
Morris most recently worked for the Black News Channel as a correspondent based in Los Angeles. Before that, he spent five years reporting for WSVN in Miami and four years at KSWB in San Diego.
Casillas comes from KVIA in El Paso, Texas and will work for the NBC4/Telemundo 44 team.
While at KVIA, he was a weekend reporter, traffic reporter, 4 p.m. anchor, nightside reporter, morning anchor and executive producer.
At WRC, Casillas, who is bilingual, will be reporting weekend nights and three days a week. He starts in June.
Younger, who is staying within NBC-owned stations, comes from WBTS in Boston where she was the Nightside ep. She will become the new nightside executive producer at WRC.
She’s produced newscasts at stations in Myrtle Beach and Greenville, S.C., and Pittsburgh. Her first ep job was in New Orleans.
