Truth Collective Hires Karima Miller as Director of People and Purpose

As Director of People and Purpose, Miller is responsible for prioritizing diversity, equity and inclusion and nurturing staff development and well-being, among other critical HR-related responsibilities.

ROCHESTER, NY – (March 1, 2022) – Truth Collective, one honestly creative company, today announced the hiring of Karima Miller to the newly-created role of Director of People and Purpose. Miller is responsible for prioritizing diversity, equity and inclusion and nurturing staff development and well-being, among other critical HR-related responsibilities. She will be reporting directly to Bob Bailey, Co-Founder and CEO.

Truth Collective has put a strong emphasis on employee health and wellness since the beginning of the agency, but has especially focused on this critical aspect of talent retention since 2020 and the talent crisis within the U.S. since. As part of this, Miller will be tasked with creating a climate of empowerment and trust, and putting ideas – such as shortened work weeks – into action. She will also be responsible for recruitment, benefits, compliance and ensuring DE&I is part of client work and processes.

“Our goal at Truth Collective is to create something that is not just a job, but rather a place to realize your dreams,” said Bailey. “We want to be the healthiest, employee-first creative agency in the country and bringing Karima on board will further our ability to do so. She is the modern take on what HR should be – her strategic DE&I lens and credentials will ensure we achieve our ambitious goals of equity in all aspects of our creative company, and those we partner with.”

Miller comes to Truth Collective from Rich Products Corporation where she served as DE&I manager. She also has experience working in HR for major companies such as EagleView and Blue Cross Blue Shield. She is driven by her ultimate goal of advancing a more diverse, equitable and inclusive environment by identifying and eliminating barriers in thoughts and systems and creating equal opportunities for all.

“My love of people and their own individual development was the perfect alignment with what Truth Collective is all about. The agency has some pretty big and unique ideas for employee happiness and wellness and I’m thrilled to be a part of bringing those ideas to fruition,” said Miller. “Positions like mine are so important to the health of a company and its people, and Truth Collective understands that better than anyone. It’s one thing to say you’re committed, it’s another to put your words into action and that is exactly what we are going to do at Truth Collective. It’s a really exciting time to join this team.”

Miller is a strong advocate for employee-centering and diversity, equity and inclusion in the workforce. She belongs to several committees and associations, including the Society of Human Resources Management, the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources and the Society for Diversity. She is certified as a Diversity Professional (CDP) by the Institute for Diversity Certification and a Professional in Human Resources (PHR).
