Mike Rees joins Ryff to head up Asia Sales after ViuTV Win

"We’re eager to capitalize on his experience and insights to make Ryff the international leader in disrupting the traditional product placement space.”

LOS ANGELES, June 23, 2022 – Ryff is proud to announce that Michael Rees is joining the company as their Senior Vice President of Sales and Head of Asia Pacific to help garner new opportunities for the company across the APAC region. Rees, who will be based in Melbourne, Australia, brings over 20 years of experience in business development, strategy and planning from both a global and local perspective.

Rees spent the last eight years at Mirriad as the Managing Director of their APAC business  where he was able to service and grow business from existing partners and develop new markets, an impressive feat in a specialized sector that intersects media entertainment and emerging technology.

“Michael has a proven track record of being able to manage business activities at a very high-level within a unique space. Our team at Ryff has every confidence that he will support our growth goals and establish new opportunities for Ryff in the APAC region,” said Garry Edwards, Chief Revenue Officer of Ryff. “This region has a wealth of opportunities when it comes to product placement and brand integration. With Michael already possessing in-depth knowledge and experience in practicing business in this region, coupled with his extensive background with media technology from his prior roles, we’re eager to capitalize on his experience and insights to make Ryff the international leader in disrupting the traditional product placement space.”

As interest has been growing for more innovative brand integration opportunities, virtual product placement has been making waves due to its limitless possibilities of inserting brands into content after they’ve been finalized. With the APAC region having a strong hold in entertainment and media, Ryff has been able to develop partnerships with media companies, most notably with ViuTV and expand its global footprint.

“Ryff is a market leader within the virtual product placement space, and I look forward to expanding the Ryff brand throughout the APAC region by providing cutting edge in-video advertising opportunities for brands and agencies, and new commercial streams for broadcasters and content owners,” said Rees. “The future of advertising is here and now. I am thrilled to be joining Ryff at this exciting time in our industry and bringing this innovative technology to the region.”

This marks a trend of upward growth for Ryff as the company is coming off the heels of their recent partnership announcement with ReachTV, the nation’s largest airport television network, where they expanded their advertising offering to brands to reach up to 40 million viewers across the nation.
