Fintech Startup Banyan, Adds 7 C-Level Executives to Accelerate Company Growth

Banyan adds seven experienced and skilled executives to strengthen its leadership team while remaining focused on innovation and changing how retailers and consumers think about and use receipt data.

NEW YORK Banyan, the global interchange for SKU-level receipt data, announced today its roster of recent hires, which are strengthening its leadership team during a period of incredible growth. 

The recent hires include:

  • David Toothaker as Chief Customer Officer
  • Arlo Laitin as Chief Revenue Officer
  • Michel Budde as Chief Financial Officer
  • Wil Schobeiri as Chief Technology Officer
  • Josh Gaffney as Chief Privacy Officer
  • Mike Grillo as Chief Strategy Officer
  • John Hendrick as Chief Administrative Officer

The addition of these seven c-level executives brings considerable experience to the Banyan team and will help propel the company’s growth in the fintech space.

David Toothaker is the former GM of Global Strategic Partnerships at Nielsen, and more recently Founder and GP of advisory services firm, Full Sail Ventures. David brings a wealth of experience and a highly driven entrepreneurial mindset to the team.

Arlo Laitin previously served as CRO at location-intelligence platform Arrivalist and EVP at Cardlytics. Arlo knows how to develop consumer behavior analytics platforms and has successfully translated and communicated data and analytics into usable insights and high-quality intelligence to help clients achieve their business objectives. 

Michael Budde formerly served as the Nielsen Sports CFO and the Global Finance Leader across Technology, Data Science and Investments. With his extensive background, Budde has the right experience to lead the Banyan financial team.

Wil Schobeiri has a deep understanding of data products, technology platforms, and scaled infrastructure, which enables him to contribute to building innovative products to fulfill the company’s vision and transform how companies and consumers view and use e-receipts. In addition, Wil’s background in software product development and consumer data compliance will help Banyan remain compliant and establish trust with consumer and enterprise customers.

Josh Gaffney has more than 17 years of legal experience in highly regulated environments and most recently served as Managing Counsel for American Express’ Global Consumer Services Group. Josh joins the team with a desirable blend of expertise across consumer data privacy, product development, and commercial domains. Gaffney’s previous roles and applicable skills will enable him to serve as a trusted advisor to the organization and build a privacy program that protects the interests of the company, Banyan’s customers, and consumers.

Mike Grillo is a seasoned executive with more than 20 years of sales, business development, strategy, marketing, analytics, and change management experience — and 10 of those years spent in the corporate sector including leadership roles at Visa and American Express. Mike is a well-versed and talented financial services professional and brings extensive relationship-building experience and is tasked with developing corporate strategy and forging new partnerships as the Banyan technology rolls out within the retail sector and unlocks valuable receipt data.

John Hendrick was formerly the Chief of Staff at Samsung Electronics of America and has experience in the financial sector, previously working at UBS Wealth Management and within technology serving as VP,  Business Operations at Comcast. With a unique blend of leadership, management, and organizational experience, John is a great addition to Banyan’s C-level team.
