Barbarian Builds On Strong Tech Foundation Hiring Lawrence Edmondson

Edmondson, Formerly of Squarespace, Will Oversee Barbarian’s Tech Offerings, Helping the Agency Solve Clients’ Complex Business Challenges

NEW YORK, March 8, 2022 – Barbarian, the agency that transforms brands through creative and technology, has announced the hiring of Lawrence Edmondson as its new Chief Technology Officer. 

With two decades of tech experience in ad agency settings, Edmondson has built a stellar reputation and is known for his innovative thought leadership, creative approach to integrating tech into brand stories, and strong commitment to industry DEI initiatives. He will focus on Barbarian’s technology capabilities, talents and processes so the agency can stay at the forefront of solving clients’ complex business problems and meeting their technology needs. Edmonson will report to CEO Steven Moy.

Edmondson joins Barbarian from Squarespace, where he led the CMS Rendering group that powers the user experience for all 3 million-plus Squarespace websites. His previous roles include Senior Vice President of Technology at VaynerMedia, Head of Technology for the Americas at Mullen Lowe Profero, Vice President of Technology at RFI Studios as well as multiple Tech Director leadership roles across the industry at agencies such as AKQA, StrawberryFrog, JWT, and HUGE.
