When you market wrestling, you have to work through a few bumps. Lilien joined WWE in April after nearly two years at Fox Sports overseeing properties including the National Football League, Major League Baseball and WWE’s Friday Night Smackdown. As sports shut down during the pandemic, WWE kept producing live events year-round without an audience. “When brands were ready to come back, WWE was here at the ready,” she says. As a result, WWE resigned existing partner Cricket Wireless and wooed Netflix, GrubHub, DraftKings, Snickers, Old Spice, Chevrolet and Constellation Brands’ Victoria beer.
