Abby Auerbach, the Television Bureau of Advertising executive vp who led the organization’s initiative to speed electronic commerce in spot TV, has been promoted to executive vp and chief marketing officer.
In her new position, Auerbach is charged with helping to oversee the evolution of the TVB into a more focused selling organization.”
“It is very clear to me that Abby is the perfect fit for that job,” said Steve Lanzano, the TVB’s new president.
Auerbach joined the TVB in June 2000 as senior vp of marketing and quickly promoted four months later to executive vp. In addition to her work on ePort, she is also credited with shaping the TVB’s initiative to revitalize spot planning around geographic targeting.
She serves on the board of the International Radio & Television Society. She is a past chair of the Local Broadcast Committee of the American Association of Advertising Agencies (AAAA) as well as past chair of AAAA’s E-Business Task Force. Auerbach is also a member of American Women in Radio and Television (AWRT), as well as Advertising Women of New York; and in 2009 was named by AWRT as one of the 25 Women to Watch in Sales and Marketing.
