What’s the first information you consume in the morning?
With this big family and everybody traveling all over the world, you never know what’s going to transpire in the middle of the night. So the first thing I do when I wake up is check my email. And then I go to TMZ to make sure that everybody’s cool because God knows they report on my family at least once a week. And then I turn on the news.
What occupies your mind in the car?
Typically, making calls or making a mental to-do list. Especially when we’re filming—we’re in the middle of filming Season 8 now—it gets really crazy. I’m not making calls; I love listening to my iPod. I’ve been listening to a lot of Kanye West [daughter Kim’s beau]. He’s been working on a new album, so it’s really fun to listen to the new music.
Do you handle your own social media?
I don’t do as much Facebook as I’d like, but I do all my own Instagrams and Twitter, and I love to Keek. We have a really great relationship with our fan base, and they enjoy the authenticity of us doing the social media ourselves.
Your daughters Kylie and Kendall are still in their teens. Do you oversee their social media?
They definitely don’t have free rein because they are still in high school. But they have three older sisters and an older brother who monitor them like the social media police.
Are you a TV junkie?
I’m kind of addicted to The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. I like watching things that are very relaxing—like last night, I watched Dancing With the Stars. And I love American Idol.
Do you watch your own show?
I love watching our show. We have Sunday night dinners at my house all the time. So if our show is in season, then we’ll watch it while everyone’s over.
Give us the skinny on your favorite app.
I love apps about home décor and design because I don’t have the chance to sit and read very much. I love Style.com and some of the different design magazine apps, like Elle Décor, and I love cooking apps.
What’s your biggest digital indulgence?
I bought this new digital Canon camera that I’m obsessed with. I download the photos onto my computer, have them printed out, and then I make albums, which I really missed. People take so many photos on their phone, and they never go back and enjoy them.
With such a bloated media universe, how do you cut out the fat?
In our house, we try to guide the kids and our family to the right sources, whatever that is. I tell my kids, don’t read the crap, don’t pay attention to the bullies, and only look at the media you can trust and you feel good energy from.
