Bill Morningstar is leaving his post as head of advertising sales for the CW Network to oversee ad sales at the Major League Baseball Network, which will launch this January, according to sources familiar with the situation.
Morningstar has been executive vp of ad sales at the CW since the network was founded two years ago in a merger between the WB and UPN networks. Prior to that, Morningstar was head of ad sales for the WB. He was one of the executives who joined the WB when it was founded in the mid-1990s and worked his way up the sales ladder there.
Neither Morningstar or Major League Baseball officials could be reached for immediate comment and the CW would not comment.
