WCBS-FM, CBS Radio’s Classic Hits station in New York pulled off a ratings upset in the Arbitron May survey, besting perennial leader Adult Contemporary WLTW-FM, owned by Clear Channel. It was the first time the iconic CBS Radio station climbed to the top overall ratings spot Arbitron began measuring the market using portable people meters in Dec. 2008. The last time WCBS was No. 1 was in 1994.
