Five-year-old beauty queens throwing tantrums, 28-year-old “gorillas” acting like full-blown morons. It’s all good entertainment, right?
Opinion-based online community Sodahead.com released the results earlier this week of its "Worst Reality Shows of 2011.” And just because these series received mega ratings doesn’t exclude them from this dubious distinction.
TLC's Toddlers & Tiaras topped the list with 32 percent of the vote, followed by E!'s Kourtney and Kim Take New York with 26 percent and MTV's Jersey Shore with 23 percent. MTV's Teen Mom and Bravo's Real Housewives came in fourth and fifth, respectively.
But just because some people can’t stand you, it doesn’t mean your show isn't a massive hit. Just ask MTV, which had two of the worst reality shows. Jersey Shore debuted to an audience of 8.8 million viewers and averaged 9.29 million viewers, making it the No. 1 show on all of basic cable. Teen Mom averaged 4.63 million viewers throughout the season.
