SBS Promotes Albert Rodriguez to WSBS-TV GM

Spanish Broadcasting System has promoted Albert Rodriguez to general manager WSBS-TV, the flagship station for the company's fledgling Mega TV network.

For the past ten years, Rodriguez was general sales manager of the company's three radio stations in Miami.

In his new position announced Monday (Feb. 8), Rodriguez will serve as liaison between the company's TV and radio divisions in Miami and work to grow revenue at Mega TV.

Separately, the company recently announced it had signed a deal with Rise Television to clear Mega TV in New York beginning in March on the digital channel of WRNN and on Time Warner Cable and Verizon FiOS. Mega TV will handle sales for its new affiliate.

National distributed through DirecTV Mas, Mega TV has signed other recent affiliation agreements in key Hispanic markets including Chicago, Dallas, Fresno and Palm Springs to reach 30 percent of the Hispanic market.
