HBO’s post-Katrina New Orleans-set drama Treme (pronounced Truh-may), is one of the most anticipated new series of the season. And that anticipation is due largely to the fact that the series, premiering Sunday, April 11, on HBO, is from The Wire creator David Simon.

Of course, anticipation swelled even more due to the untimely death in March of Simon’s writing colleague David Mills.

Earlier this year, at the Winter TCA press tour, Mediaweek correspondent Alan Frutkin sat down with Simon, co-creator Eric Overmyer, and actor Wendell Pierce to talk about the show, Hurricane Katrina, and New Orleans’ slow but steady revival.
