After a bid for a syndicated talk show fell through, comedian George Lopez is making the leap to cable, joining TBS as host and co-executive producer of a new late-night strip.

The as-yet untitled talk show will run on TBS Mondays through Thursdays at 11 p.m., starting November 2009. According to the Turner network, Lopez plans to imbue a “street-party atmosphere” to the talker, which will be taped in front of a “high-energy” studio audience.

The series will also be more immersive than standard late-night showcases, as audience members will be given opportunities to “interact with” and “engage fully” with Lopez’ guests.
