LATV, Tribune Ink Affiliate Deal

NEW YORK Bilingual entertainment and music network LATV has entered into a distribution partnership with Tribune Broadcasting that extends the upstart net's presence into New York, Chicago and Dallas, LATV said today.

The Tribune's owned and operated CW affiliate stations that will become digital multicast affiliates of LATV include WPIX, New York; WGN, Chicago; and KDAF, Dallas.

"The Tribune deal offers us distribution in three of the most sought-after television markets in the country," Howard Bolter, LATV president and COO, said in a statement.

The affiliation agreement comes as LATV prepares to host its first upfront presentation in New York on May 1.

The partnership widens LATV's presence nationwide to 32 million households, up from the 23 million households the network currently serves. The deal also increases the number of LATV affiliates to 33 nationally (in 19 of the top 25 Hispanic TV markets) from five when the network launched earlier this year, per the net.
