Estrella TV, Liberman Broadcasting's new Spanish-language TV network, announced Monday (April 6) it has signed an affiliate agreement with Sunbeam Television, owner of WSVN, the Fox affiliate in Miami, the third-largest Hispanic market.
When the network launches in third quarter, WSVN will clear Estrella TV on its multicast channel, 7.2.
The deal gives Estrella TV its fifth affiliate, reaching 48 percent of Hispanic TV households.
Recently, Estrella TV purchased WASA-TV, to gain entrance into the New York market. In February, Estrella TV signed an affiliation agreement with Communications Corp. of America, which will clear Estrella TV on its digital signals in four Texas markets. They join KMPX and KZJL, LBI Media's owned and operated stations in Dallas and Houston, which air Estrella TV on their main signal.
"There continues to be significant interest from industry leading broadcasters for the highly rated programming that is featured on Estrella TV," said Lenard Liberman, LBI media executive vp.
