'Boston Globe' Tries Front-Page Ads

NEW YORK The Boston Globe will soon start publishing front-page ads.
The news comes just three days after its sibling, The New York Times, carried its first display ad at the bottom of page one.
A Globe spokesman said details on price, size and exact location were still being worked out. He said the decision to run front-page ads was made independently of the Times' move.
Both troubled papers had sold ads on section fronts in recent years.
All dailies are looking for new ways to generate revenue during a severe downturn.
