AFTRA Board Approves Videogame Deal

The American Federation of Television and Radio Artist’s national board of directors voted Saturday to send a proposed extension of its videogame contract to members for ratification.

The proposal, if approved, will take effect on Jan. 1, 2010, and extend the current deal between the guild and producers through March 31, 2011. It would provide members with a 2.5-percent pay increase and a 0.2-percent hike in employer contributions to pension and health. It would also create a new performance category, “atmospheric performer.”
