ABC has announced an aggressive summer schedule that will include new scripted dramas The Gates, Scoundrels and Rookie Blue; new game show Downfall; new reality hour Bachelor Pad; and new seasons of The Bachelorette, True Beauty, Dating in the Dark, Wipeout and Shaq Vs. New from the ABC News department are hours Boston Med, Primetime: Mind Games, Head Cases and Primetime: Crime.
Returning The Bachelorette will officially kick-off the summer season with a two-hour launch on Monday, May 24 at 9 p.m. ET (followed one week later in its regularly scheduled Monday 8-10 p.m. ET block leading into season two of True Beauty). Next up is the two-hour sneak peak date-themed episode of Wipeout on Tuesday, June 1 from 8-10 p.m. (before the third season-premiere on Tuesday, June 22, also at 8 p.m. ET).
Suburban drama The Gates premieres on Sunday, June 20 at 9 p.m. ET, leading into The Scoundrels, a one-hour comedy/drama about a family of small time criminals who try to go straight after the father is set to go to prison. Rookie Blue, which follows the lives of five young and ambitious cops right out of the Police Academy, launches on Thursday, June 24 at 9 p.m. ET.
Game show Downfall, which features contestants playing for a million dollars atop a tall building in the middle of a metropolitan landscape, opens on Tuesday, June 29 at 9 p.m. ET. And Bachelor Pad, featuring 20 of the most unforgettable contestants/suitors from The Bachelor will reunite under one roof beginning on Monday, August 9 from 8-10 p.m. ET. Chris Harrison hosts. Leading out of Bachelor Pad will be the second-season of Dating in the Dark. Shaq Vs., meanwhile, will open its new season on Tuesday, August 10 at 9 p.m. ET.
