Nissan and Sports Illustrated are reaching out to college football fans revved up about the Heisman Trophy's 75th anniversary.

Beginning Sept. 5, SI and Nissan will embark on a 10-stop experiential tour to help fans celebrate the 2009 season and the award that annually recognizes the most outstanding college football player.

"The Sports Illustrated Heisman Tour Presented by Nissan" will showcase the Heisman Trophy, as well as SI's past coverage of the sport. A portable 100 x 100-foot display will allow fans to take photographs of themselves with the Heisman Trophy on an SI cover. They can also test their sports knowledge with one-on-one trivia challenges.

Event attendees will receive a free copy of SI's special Nissan-sponsored issue, which is dedicated to the Trophy's anniversary, as well as meet past Heisman winners.

Nissan will showcase its line of cars and trucks at the events, and feature at least two 2010 Maxima sedans. Guests will also be able to experience the new car model via an interactive game. The tour will stop at select various college match-ups.

"Exhilarating performance is at the heart of college football's most prestigious award, the Heisman Trophy, and the same is true of Nissan's flagship sedan, the 2010 Nissan Maxima," said Nissan vp, marketing Christian Meunier, in a statement. "Partnering with Sports Illustrated is the perfect way to bring 75 years of college football history to life while offering fans a closer look at Nissan's exciting vehicles."

SI.com will feature videos of "Greatest Heisman Moments" and users can vote for the "most defining Heisman moment."

Tour information, event photos and videos can be found on an SI/Nissan landing page: www.si.com/75heismantour. A Nissan-sponsored sweepstakes will offer one winner a trip to attend the BCS Championship Game, along with three friends, SI senior writer Dan Patrick and a Heisman winner.
