NEW YORK WPP Group said its Mediaedge:cia subsidiary has acquired an additional 60 percent stake in The Leverage Group that increases its overall ownership to 80 percent.

Mediaedge:cia also has committed to purchase the remaining 20 percent at a later date.

Leverage, an entertainment marketing and consulting firm in New York, specializes in building strategic alliances and partnerships among brand marketers, entertainment and sports entities, and nonprofit organizations.

Founded in 1999, it has been part of the Mediaedge:cia network since 2003.
