DALLAS TLC Realty Advisors has hired Witherspoon Advertising and Public Relations to handle marketing duties for the former Bank One Tower in Fort Worth, Texas.

The 35-floor building has been a fixture of the city’s downtown since its opening in 1974 and became one of its greatest eyesores after a tornado destroyed it in March 2000.

Its current owners bought the building last March from Sundance Square Management and will turn it into a mixed-use property with retail, residential and commercial space. Fort Worth-based Witherspoon previously had handled public relations for the building under Sundance Square.

Now, Witherspoon is charged with handling advertising and public relations that target residents and businesses. The agency has assisted the client with a new name and logo for the building, which will be unveiled tomorrow. The site is expected to open in 2005.

Billings were undisclosed. The agency won the business without a review.
