WestWayne has wona creative assignment from The Weather Channel.

The independent shop was selected over four other Atlanta agencies—Bad Design, Cole Henderson Drake, Huey/Paprocki and Match—and undisclosed New York contenders, according to sources.

WestWayne will develop a print and outdoor campaign supporting the cable channel’s new show, Storm Stories. Media spending will total $1.5 million.

Advertising, to launch in January, features images of storm coverage culled from the Atlanta client’s archives. The tagline: “The worst of nature.
