ATLANTA WestWayne recently partnered with Jon Hill Pictures to produce a two-minute short in support of the Piedmont Park Conservancy, according to the agency.

The Atlanta shop said it was tapped by the nonprofit group to develop the program to promote Piedmont Park's restoration and preservation. WestWayne and JHP Hill wrote, directed and produced the piece that features several Atlanta celebrities and "Tinky," an animated squirrel that urges viewers to sing along to lyrics written to "Blister in the Sun," a song donated by the Violent Femmes, the agency added.

PPC partnered with the City of Atlanta in 1995 to develop a plan to restore the park and reestablish the site as "the premier green space of Atlanta." The group hopes that the spot will send an important message to viewers about the importance of keeping the park safe and clean, said Debbie McCown, executive director of the PPC.

"The many professionals who gave their time and talents to produce this film have given Piedmont Park a special gift for its 100th birthday," McCown added.

Local talent featured in the film include Atlanta Falcons mascot Freddie Falcon, ABC news anchor Monica Kaufman and Grammy Award nominee Shawn Mullins, WestWayne said. The short, which premiered last Thursday during the park's "Screen on the Green" outdoor movie event, will continue playing through July 1.
