Verizon Debuts Self-Service Ad Tool

NEW YORK Verizon SuperPages.com has created a self-service application that lets marketers purchase and maintain advertising programs without the assistance of a sales representative.

The new tool also allows advertisers to adjust and monitor pay-per-click bids, update their business profiles with new information and analyze click-through rates.

The Internet directory, which claims more than 3 million daily searches, hopes the tool will appeal to small to midsize business owners that want a Web presence. "On the Internet, local merchants want the flexibility to manage their advertising when it's convenient," SuperPages.com vice president of e-commerce sales and online marketing Darrin Rayner said in a statement.

The Dallas-based company will continue to offer a full-service option for those who prefer the guidance of a sales rep.
