U.S. Shops Tally at London Awards Show

NEW YORK U.S. agencies topped the 21st London International Awards in London tonight, with 31 out a total of 127 statues going to American shops. BBDO in New York, Crispin Porter + Bogusky in Miami and Saatchi & Saatchi here each won a Grand Prize award.

BBDO won the top prize in Integrated Media for the eBay "It" campaign; CP+B scored in Interactive Media for the Volkswagen GTI Web site; and Saatchi & Saatchi tallied in Print for a 42 Below Vodka campaign.

BBDO won an additional statue for eBay in TV/Cinema for the "Anthem" spot and one for a Snickers commercial titled "Bald." The agency also won two statues in Poster & Outdoor for the BBC "Maps/Soldier" campaign and FedEx/Kinko's "Highlighter."

CP+B also won two statues for Burger King work, one in Interactive Media for the "Whopperettes" Web site and another for the Whopperettes commercial in TV/Cinema for "America's Favorite."

Saatchi received an additional award for a single 42 Below Vodka execution, "Bareback Mountain," and a statue for Tide to Go's "Pocket," both in Print.

Arnold in Boston earned statues for a Timberland point-of-purchase piece, an integrated Volkswagen Passat effort and for an American Legacy Foundation TV commercial, which the agency created in collaboration with CP+B.

Goodby, Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco won four statues, all in Interactive Media. Two came for its efforts on behalf of the California Milk Processors Board; the others were for Saturn and Comcast.

Additional winners in Interactive Media were Tribal DDB, New York, for Phillips Bodygroom, shaveeverywhere.com; R/GA, New York, for Nike+; Blitz, Beverly Hills, Calif., for Corpse Bride; and EVB, San Francisco, for Orbit.

In Radio, DDB in Chicago brought home two statues for executions in its "Real American Genius" campaign: "Mr. Hot Dog Eating Contest Contestant," which was honored in Copywriting, and "Mr. Electric Carving Knife Inventor," which was recognized in Humor.

Additional category winners were: Y&R in Chicago for Miller Lite's "Pledge," as well as for a Travel Channel campaign; and Radioactive Commercials in Los Angeles for Special Adaptation of Music for its 7-Eleven "Twofers" spot.

Additional winners in TV/Cinema were: DDB in Los Angeles for the Ameriquest "Doctor" spot; Ogilvy & Mather in New York for the Tribeca Film Festival "Transvestite" spot; and CreativeOnDemand in Coral Gables, Fla., for the Toureg "Ink" spot.

The 2006 jury presidents were Graham Warsop from The Jupiter Drawing Room, South Africa, for Advertising and Design, and Daniel Bonner from AKQA London for Interactive. Winners were chosen from 17,139 entries from 80 countries.
