ATLANTA Erin Kuhls has been promoted to general manager and Patrick Hardy has been advanced to executive creative director of the advertising division of Tierney Communications, the shop said.
Kuhls, 41, previously was executive vice president and director of account management. She replaces Scott Franks, who left in February. Kuhls joined the Interpublic Group-owned Philadelphia-based shop in 2000 with experience in healthcare and energy advertising. In 2001, she led the ad launch of utility company Exelon Corp.
Kuhls also has worked at Ogilvy & Mather in New York and Foote Cone & Belding, Albert Einstein Healthcare Network and the former Elkman Advertising, all in Philadelphia.

Hardy, 37, was senior vice president and creative director at Tierney before the promotion. He replaces Kelly Simmons in the shop's top creative post. Simmons departed last summer after two years as the shop's chief creative officer.
Hardy joined Tierney in 1998 as a junior copywriter. He has worked on campaigns for Verizon, PECO Energy, Exelon, Commerce Bank and Independence Blue Cross. The shop has about 150 employees and approximately $150 million in overall billings.
