The crackling sound of Liener “Wiener” Temerlin being roasted o’er an open fire was heard this month as the Dallas Ad League cheered and jeered Temerlin McClain’s chairman at its second annual Ad Roast.

The night featured Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders, the Coppell High School marching band and (what else?) 10 Elvis impersonators on mini motorbikes. Luminaries lined up to take pot shots at Temerlin, 73, an industry stalwart who joined the Dallas agency as a copywriter in 1952, when it was Glenn Advertising.
