TBWA\C\D Opens Hotel Door for Media Sibling

LOS ANGELES Hilton Hotels Corp. is in negotiations to award media duties for its Embassy Suites brand to Omnicom's OMD, a client representative confirmed.

Interpublic Group's Foote Cone & Belding in Irvine, Calif., previously handled Embassy Suites' media. Creative is with OMD sister shop TBWA\Chiat\Day in New York, which has had the business since 1999. Sources said TBWA\C\D opened the door for OMD in New York to pick up the media account.

Billings could not immediately be determined. The Beverly Hills, Calif., client spent $7 million on ads for Embassy Suites in 2002, according to Nielsen Monitor-Plus.

Representatives at TBWA\C\D and FCB declined comment.

FCB in Irvine retains media duties for all other Hilton Hotels Corp. brands, including Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton Inn and Hampton Inn & Suites and Homewood Suites. The shop's Chicago office is responsible for creative.
