CHICAGO TAP Pharmaceutical Products said it has pulled the TV portion of its campaign for heartburn drug Prevacid “to focus on print media that it hopes will better explain the drug’s potential side effects and health risks.”

The Lake Forest, Ill.-based drug maker (a joint venture of Abbott Laboratories and Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. in Japan) had aired TV spots with NFL Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway.

The lead agency is Merkley + Partners in New York.
