The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost ground late last Friday as a disappointing profit outlook from companies such as eBay and Sun Microsystems fueled investors’ worries about technology-sector growth. But one analyst indicated the selling was a reaction to recent positive news, and said investors were simply looking for a breather. “It’s profit-taking more than anything else,” said David Memmott, head of listed block trading at Morgan Stanley. The performance of ad holding company stocks was mixed.
