BOSTON Swardlick Marketing Group has named Cathleen Toomey managing director of the agency's growing higher education practice, which includes clients Bentley College, the University of Maine and the Mitchell Institute.
Toomey brings more than 20 years of strategic marketing and brand-building expertise to Portland, Maine-based Swardlick, having held leadership positions within higher education as well as consumer products companies.
Most recently, Toomey served as vp of communications at Stonyfield Farm, the third-largest yogurt brand in the U.S.
She also has served as executive director of marketing at Babson College, where she launched the school's first TV ad campaign and managed institutional branding efforts. At the University of New Hampshire, Toomey led the multi-year centennial celebration and outreach effort for the college, garnering increased funding for the land grant institution.
Toomey's agency experience was gained at two Boston firms: public relations shop Cone and ad agency Cosmopulous, Crowley & Daly.
