DALLAS To better serve its existing clients and new business prospects, Stone Ward has relaunched a design group that will specialize in brand identities, packaging, graphics and environmental projects, the shop said.

The Little Rock, Ark., agency has installed Bill Gangluff to lead the Stone Ward Design Group as director of design. Gangluff previously served as the shop's interactive director and managed the agency's original design group, which was blended into its creative department seven years ago, the shop said.

Under Gangluff's direction, the design group will work closely with other agency departments, including creative, interactive and public relations. The team's services will include naming, signature development, identity guidelines, packaging, financial reporting and three-dimensional design.

"Design has always been a part of our creative arsenal, but with our new design group, we now have professionals who will focus exclusively on this one important discipline," said agency executive creative director Larry Stone.

Gangluff returns to Stone Ward after taking a year off to attend law school. Before his eight-year tenure with the agency, Gangluff was a designer in the financial services, data management and healthcare fields. His design experience includes working on national brands such as Meineke, TCBY and Terminix.

Along with Stone, Gangluff joins shop creative director Jay Cranford in a creative leadership role.
