Marketing officials with Starbucks Coffee Co. were in Atlanta last week, visiting local agencies and conducting “chemistry checks” as the client prepares to reduce the list to three or four finalists for its $800,000 account.
The winning shop, which will handle Starbucks locations in Atlanta and Florida, will primarily be doing promotional work and public relations.
A consultant working with Starbucks, Catherine Becsion of Select Resources, said the client is still planning to name a winner by the middle of November.
The regional review does not affect Starbucks lead agency, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco, which handles national brand creative.
