ATLANTA Omnicom Group's Zimmerman Partners said it has been chosen to handle advertising for S&K Famous Brands, parent of S&K Menswear retail stores. There was no review for the 240-store Richmond, Va.-based chain, which had previously used Gold Coast Advertising of Miami.

The ad budget will top $12 million, and the first work from Zimmerman of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., is due to break in October, the agency said.

"Zimmerman's capabilities and proven retail performance will supercharge our current team and allow us to stake claim to a bigger share of the menswear market," said Laura O'Grady, senior vice president of advertising and marketing for S&K, in a statement.

"By looking at S&K's business as a whole, rather than just focusing on their advertising, we hope to help them grab a stronger hold on their market," said Jordan Zimmerman, agency chief executive. "We intend to work with them on everything from customer relationship management to direct mail to [traditional media advertising] advertising."

S&K operates stores in 70 markets throughout 27 Midwestern, Northeastern and Southern states, with eight additional stores scheduled to open by year's end.
