BOSTON-Seven Design won best of show honors and was one of seven entrants to garner a gold prize at the 20th annual Broderson Awards recognizing creative excellence in Maine.
Sponsored by the Advertising Club of Greater Portland, the awards presentation was staged at the 200-year-old Portland Yacht Services building. About 600 industry professionals and clients attended-and some 600 total entries were received.
Portland-based Seven Design won the top prize, along with a single gold award, for a small-space newspaper campaign on behalf of Pine State Plumbing & Heating.
Also taking home gold prizes were Nancy Montgomery for ICA/MECA, Leslie Evans Design for Georgia-Pacific, Kirsten Schultz Design for Assetworks, Patrick Corrigan for Ripchord Records, Christopher Hadden Design for Melissa Sweet and Michael Oransky & Co. for The Step Guys.
Two special prizes were also handed out. Nancy Montgomery took home the Janet Body Copywriting Award for her ICA consumer collateral work. Barbara Keltonic, regional sales manager at WMTW-TV, Portland's ABC affiliate, won the Conwell Award for her service to both the Ad Club and the community at large. ƒ
