NEW YORK — Summer sales and pre-season fall promotions drove at-home Web surfers to click-and-morter retailers in July, according to the latest report from Nielsen/NetRatings.

Traffic to Office Depot Online skyrocketed 120 percent to 456,000 visitors the week ending July 21, according to the findings. More than 23 percent of the site’s audience browsed and bought various products that offered a free shipping campaign. That same week CompUSA.com also featured sales and shipping promotions, increasing traffic by 58 percent to 224,000 Web surfers.
