Arnold Worldwide, pitching with its design unit Cipriani Kremer, has won advertising chores for Sappi Fine Paper North America following a review.
Boston-based Arnold upended Toth Brand Imaging, Concord, Mass., and The Richards Group, Dallas, in the final round of a review overseen by Boston consulting firm Pile and Co. Siegelgale, New York, had previously worked for the client, also based in Boston.
Arnold and Cipriani's "great combination of creative talent and branding ability" put the team over the top in the review, said Corbett Saunders, director of advertising for the client. Spending was not disclosed, but the annual budget is believed to be in the low- to mid-seven figures.
Both creative development and media chores are included in the assignment, as are design and collateral work. Ads will target art directors, graphic designers and other professionals in publishing, communications and design.
Despite the relatively modest budget, agency executives praised the creative opportunity that the Sappi assignment could provide.
The review had been motivated by the client's desire to apply "more of an advertising focus" to its marketing efforts, a Pile representative had said.
