DALLAS New Orleans’ efforts to rebuild its tourist base got a boost from the National Football League, which today confirmed that the home team Saints would return to the Superdome, site of some of the worst horrors in the wake of Hurricane Katrina last September.

The Saints, homeless due to damage to the domed stadium, played their 2005 home games at San Antonio’s Alamodome and at Louisiana State University’s Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, La. Crowds in San Antonio averaged about 20,000 more per game than those in Baton Rouge.
