LOS ANGELES Lou Romano has been appointed group director at Interpublic Group's Universal McCann, where he will work on the Sony Pictures Entertainment account.
Romano, 38, reports to Karen Bloore, executive vice president, managing director at the Los Angeles office of McCann Erickson. Romano was most recently group media director at Omnicom Group's DDB Entertainment, Los Angeles, where he was assigned Sony competitor Universal Pictures, Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Television.
Romano began his career in the media department at Lord, Dentsu & Partners in 1989, eventually rising to the position of senior media planner.
"Lou Romano brings terrific experience and credentials to this role," Bloore said in a statement. "We're thrilled to have him on the Sony team, and the client sees this as a tremendous addition to our group."
Romano was immediately unavailable for comment.
