Tamara Thompson has returned to BBDO West in Los Angeles with a new title and new responsibilities.
The account planner, who was recruited a few months ago to join the account planning team at Ground Zero in Santa Monica, Calif., returned to BBDO recently to help successfully pitch a Pepsi assignment.
"I decided to come back to BBDO because of its renewed commitment to what we could do with the agency," said Thompson, who previously worked on the Apple account when it was at BBDO.
"I've not met a better planner than Tamara," said David Lubars, the agency's chief executive officer and chief creative officer, adding that planning played a key role in landing the Pepsi assignment.
Thompson, elevated from senior account planner to vice president, planning director, is focusing on BBDO's Pepsi business.
Although the $80-90 million Apple account went to TBWA Chiat/Day, BBDO has added nearly $180 million in new billings this year, including the Pepsi assignment, Starbucks and Best Western.
