DALLAS Thirty-one faith-based periodicals launched a regional ad initiative yesterday called Good News Advertising.

The Dallas-based nonprofit organization will be headed by representatives from the participating publications, said Bronson Havard, GNA chairman and executive editor of Texas Catholic.

With more than 3.5 million readers in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas and New Mexico, faith groups represented in GNA include Baptist, Catholic, Methodist, Jewish, Presbyterian and United Church of Christ.

Havard said GNA would serve as a coordinator between the publications and advertisers seeking a new market.
