BOSTON Rapp Collins Worldwide has promoted James F. Lyons to president of its New York office.

Lyons, 37, will report to Malcolm Speed, chairman and chief executive officer of RCW, and will be responsible for all aspects of the office's client programs and growth. He replaces Robert Solomon, who served as president for one year. Solomon left the company to return to his solo consulting practice, Solomon Strategic, and to pursue his writing career.

"During the past two years at Optima, Jim Lyons created a collaborative environment that has delivered a successful service-value model for clients," said Speed. "He is universally respected by senior management and clients, and highly regarded for his extreme focus on both clients and employee satisfaction."

Lyons has served as president of Optima Direct, RCW's telemarketing firm in Vienna, Va., since November 2002. Lyons plans to retain that position and split his time between New York and Virginia. Prior to Optima, Lyons was a principal in the emerging markets operation at MarchFirst.
