“There are a lot of things people depend on Alabama Power for. Electricity just happens to be one of them” is the tag in Harris Drury Cohen’s first TV campaign for the utility.

The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., shop was contracted after the client left Long Haymes Carr (now Mul-len/LHC) in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Breaking this week on state cable and network affiliates, the$5 million effort includes two 30-second spots celebrating birth and friendship. Print and collateral roll out this summer.

“We’re not saying that Alabama Power is the core of your being,” said HDC creative partner Stan Harris, “but that it’s a human company with the same values as the people it serves.”
