It's early, not even Thanksgiving yet, with plenty of time for holiday gift shopping. But it won't be long before that trip to the department store becomes a harried search for a last-minute gift.
Simmons Durham in St. Louis has produced a TV spot that offers a possible solution for procrastinating shoppers. When strolling through a Sears store, it says, one such gift can result from a stop at Sears Portrait Studio for a "customized photo product."
The 30-second holiday spot, called "Portrait Creations," is part of an extensive campaign from the agency airing nationally this month on network and cable TV. One of the spots for the studios, which are owned by St. Louis-based CPI Corp., uses characters from Pokƒmon. Two others use the Buzz and Woody characters from the upcoming movie Toy Story 2.
