With the recession officially pronounced dead—at least according to the National Bureau of Economic Research—the Dow Jones Industrial Average ended the week on a high, as investors girded for second-quarter earnings reports in the coming weeks. The market also received a boost after AOL Time Warner announced the sale of its CD/DVD-manufacturing unit. But for investors of ad-holding-company stocks, there was nothing to cheer about.
