Integrated Marketing Shop Gets Added Programming Expertise
LOS ANGELES--Campbell Technologies Group and The Phelps Group have announced they are forming a strategic alliance.
The move will help both organizations develop better interactive solutions for their clients, according to Phelps executives.
CTG develops sales force automation, database products, e-commerce solutions and other customized applications. The Phelps Group, an integrated marketing communications agency, serves clients including Bushnell Sports Optics, Panasonic Pro Audio and Advanced Research Laboratories.
"The most successful companies nowadays are delivering three things: better technology; the ability to market it; and the capacity to deliver it with blinding speed," said Joe Phelps, chief executive officer of The Phelps Group. "By partnering with CTG, we'll deliver better technology to give our clients competitive advantages. ... [It's] really what we need to strengthen our back-end programming to fit well with our front-end navigation and interface design."
CTG president Scott Campbell called the union a "symbiotic strategic" alliance. "Our back-end technology, combined with Phelps' marketing skills, will be just one more advantage for both of our client rosters," he said.
CTG's eight programmers have relocated from their Los Angeles offices to The Phelps Group's Santa Monica, Calif., facility.
"Bringing CTG right into our premises will enhance communications, which will reduce our time to market," said Phelps.
Separately, The Phelps Group has hired several interactive specialists to service its growing list of new media clients. Dan Edens joins from MCA Records as interactive art director. Also on board are Web designer Jon Delman and interactive project coordinator Jim DiModica. Chrisie Yabu, a four-year team leader at the agency, has been elevated to interactive producer.
