NEW YORK Panasonic today confirmed that it has hired Boston-based consultancy Pile and Co. to oversee a review of its advertising account.

Panasonic, with U.S. headquarters in Secaucus, N.J., put its agency, WPP Group’s Grey Worldwide, on 90-day notice Wednesday [Adweek Online, Nov.30].

The client spent about $60 million in U.S. media last year, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus.

“We are ending the relationship with Grey as part of broader changes within our organization that are related to our approach to the marketplace and our company’s ongoing transformation,” said client representative Jim Reilly.
