You can take the worker out of the office, but can you take the office out of the worker? Not necessarily, according to a CareerBuilder.com survey on summer-vacation plans. Conducted in April among nearly 1,400 workers, the poll found many will be checking in with the workplace while away from it (see chart). Nineteen percent said they’ll do so voluntarily; 16 percent will do it at a supervisor’s behest. Workers are certainly due for a breather: Sixty-eight percent of respondents said they “feel burnout,” 41 percent said their workload is too heavy, and 57 percent said their workload has increased during the past six months.
